Worship & Music Commission
Dillman's worship style is decidedly Spirit-led and contemporary, using a full band including piano, guitars, and drums. We worship the Lord seriously, joyfully, and enthusiastically. Our main purpose in worship ministry is to lead people into the presence of God, where those who are already know our Lord draw closer to Him and those who have never experienced His presence and don't know Him will recognize His presence here, giving them the opportunity to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
During our service, worship takes many forms. Sometimes it is loud and other times very quiet. Sometimes our faces show an explosive celebration of praise and other times great reverence. Sometimes we sing contemporary music and other times anthems or hymns.
Our worship involves music, the Word of God, and both physical and vocal response to what God is doing in our services. We all carry the responsibility of seeking God. Our worship is highly participatory and always open to natural expressions of adoration. Scripture is our source for our pattern and principle of worship. Exaltation is our goal. Decency and order are our constant watchwords.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why do we stand to sing?
Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the LORD, the God of Israel, with very loud voice. (2 Chr 20:19)
And the Levites-- Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah and Pethahiah-- said: "Stand up and praise the LORD your God, who is from everlasting to everlasting." "Blessed be your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise. (Neh 9:5)
Why do we clap our hands?
Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy. (Ps 47:1)
Why do we have this type of worship?
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4:23-24)
Why do we sing contemporary music as well as hymns?
Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit. Speak to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, (Eph 5:18-19)
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. (Col 3:16)
Why are musical instruments a part of the worship service?
The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: "He is good; his love endures forever." Then the temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud, and the priests could not perform their service because of the cloud, for the glory of the LORD filled the temple of God. (2 Chr 5:13-14)
Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. (Ps 150:3-5)
Why do we enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with laughter in our services?
He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. (Job 8:21)
Our mouths were filled with laughter, our tongues with songs of joy. Then it was said among the nations, "The LORD has done great things for them." (Psalm 126:2)
